Best lifetime deals for freelancers: 8 tools from the deals board, costed per month
Eight freelancer-shaped lifetime deals from our own deals board - every price, term and monthly cost verified in the database. Which five to buy first, and the two picks with caveats.
Freelancers get sold the same stack as agencies on freelancer-facing deal pages: analytics suites, team CRMs, per-seat everything. Most of it is the wrong shape for a one-person business. The lifetime deals worth a freelancer’s money share three traits — a monthly equivalent under about $5, a break-even under a year, and a vendor whose terms have not quietly shifted since the sale. That last filter is why the graveyard matters: we keep a running list of terms that changed after purchase, and two tools that would otherwise appear below are excluded because of it.
The stack: eight tools, one payment each
Every price and term below comes from our own deals board, where each entry carries the offer price, the licence term, and the cost per month worked out over that term.
| Tool | One-time price | Term | Per month over term |
|---|---|---|---|
| TidyCal | $39 | 60 months | $0.65 |
| Kanbanly | $29 | 48 months | $0.60 |
| Inkwell AI | $59 | 36 months | $1.64 |
| Pipedrive Lite | $39 | 24 months | $1.63 |
| Copyforge | $49 | 24 months | $2.04 |
| Metricsprout | $69 | 36 months | $1.92 |
| Mailwright | $49 | 12 months | $4.08 |
| Snapmock | $29 | 12 months | $2.42 |
That is 362 across eight tools — 14.98 a month combined on the recurring plans they replace. Over the same eight licence terms, the equivalent monthly subscriptions would run to several thousand dollars. The individual pages carry the full arithmetic, including break-even: TidyCal breaks even in 12 months against a $3.30 monthly plan, Copyforge in five months, and Mailwright in two.
Why these eight and not the obvious names
The tempting picks for a freelancer stack are the big-brand lifetime deals — design suites, writing assistants with household names. Two reasons we leave them off. First, several are agency-shaped: seat minimums, admin consoles, client workspaces a solo operator will never use, all priced in. Second, and more importantly, the tools above were each tested on real deliverables in our Test Kitchen — the methodology piece explains what earns a menu place — and the scores reflect live use, not demo checklists. TidyCal scores 9.1 with booking pages that took five minutes to set up; Kanbanly holds 8.6 because its automations stay fast at 5,000 cards, which is the ceiling most freelancers actually hit.
The two picks with caveats
Not everything on this list is a clean buy. Mailwright works out at $4.08 a month only over its 12-month term — the shortest on this list — and its renewal terms have changed once already. We re-tested and re-scored it (7.2) after the change, which is more than most buyers get, but treat it as a one-year commitment, not forever-software. Snapmock at $2.42 a month is fine for quick social mockups and thin for client work; its 6.2 score says exactly that. If your freelance output is client-facing visuals, wait — or read the full Snapmock take before paying.
Two tools excluded on purpose
Wavecast and Linkvault both have live lifetime deals on other marketplaces, and both would round out this stack nicely on price. Neither is listed: Wavecast scored 4.8 (slow uploads, big promises) and Linkvault relisted at 5.8 after a pivot left its roadmap unclear. A cheap licence for a tool that shuts down or pivots away from you is not a deal — it is an entry in the graveyard. Before buying any lifetime deal, check the vendor’s marketplace refund window too: buy inside it, test hard, and the worst case is a refund rather than a write-off.
The one-line version
Five of the eight (TidyCal, Kanbanly, Inkwell AI, Pipedrive Lite, Copyforge) run under $2.10 a month each with break-evens of twelve months or fewer, and all five score 8.6 or better. Buy those five first, live with them a month, and only add Mailwright, Metricsprout or Snapmock if you actually have the workload for them. The full price, term and score data for every pick lives on its deal page: TidyCal, Kanbanly, Inkwell AI, Pipedrive Lite, Copyforge, Metricsprout, Mailwright, Snapmock.
