Deskhero works out at $4.92 a month on its lifetime deal — but the score says look twice

Deskhero's lifetime deal costs $59 once and works out at $4.92 a month over its 12-month term. Our honest review covers why it still scores 5.2 — the lowest of the tested deals.

Deskhero is a helpdesk with the right idea and, in our test kitchen's words so far, rough edges everywhere. Its lifetime deal is $59 once against a $149 normal price, and over a 12-month term that works out at $4.92 a month. That is a fair-looking number for a helpdesk. The problem is what the number does not say, and this review is the one on our menu where the caveat does most of the work.

What $59 actually buys

The deal row is straightforward: $59 now, $149 as the normal price, 12-month term. Amortised, the offer comes to $4.92 a month; the normal price works out at $24.83 a month. The deal has been tested — it scored 5.2 on 18 September 2026 — and it carries an honest pair of pros: a shared inbox and SLA timers, the two things a helpdesk has to get right at minimum.

Twelve months of arithmetic

Run the normal price across the term and you get $297.96 — $24.83 a month for 12 months. The lifetime deal costs $59, so the saving over the term is $238.96. Break-even lands at three months, which is quick. The maths is simple because the term is short: this is one of the smallest lifetime commitments on our menu, and one of the few where you are clearly out the other side of break-even before the licence ends.

Why the score is 5.2

A 5.2 is the lowest score of any deal we have tested so far, and the cons list explains it. There is no API on the LTD tier — so if you expected to wire the helpdesk into your other tools, the deal tier cannot do it. The mobile app crashes. Those are not cosmetic complaints for a tool whose whole job is being reachable when a customer needs an answer. The deal's own description calls it a helpdesk with the right idea and rough edges everywhere, and the test result backs that up.

Who should still consider it

If your support volume is small, your workflow lives inside the shared inbox, and you answer tickets from a browser rather than a phone, $4.92 a month for 12 months of SLA-timed support is a defensible spend — and nothing on the deal forces an upsell. If you need an API or a reliable mobile app, the maths does not matter: no monthly-equivalent fixes a missing feature. Check the full deal table for the scored alternatives before committing.

The bottom line

$59 for 12 months at $4.92 a month, against a normal price of $24.83 a month — that is $238.96 saved over the term, with break-even at three months. But the 5.2 score and the missing API mean this is a buy-you-should-think-about-twice, not a bargain to jump on. That is exactly what the score is there to tell you.

One more caution from our records: Deskhero's Enterprise LTD is already in the graveyard after the vendor lost their hosting partner — worth weighing against vendor stability before the $59 becomes a sunk cost.
